Kid safe slime! Via Office Depot.

My daughter has been bugging me for a couple of months to make slime with her. She continuously showed me recipes but, I was hesitant because, I thought it would just be a huge mess and then a little girl burned her hands with slime she had made and I was even more scared to try it out. Last week I was scrolling through my FaceBook feed as normal and found a video by Office Depot called kid safe slime! Finally I caved.

What you will need:

  • 1 4 oz bottle of Elmer's White School Glue for each kid or as many bottles of glue as you want to make colors
  • 1 Container with a nice tight locking lid per kid or bottle or color you want to make
  • 1 bottle of any brand contact lens solution (Yes off brand does work fine and will make a lot of slime).
  • Food dye
  • Glitter (optional)
  • Baking soda (1 box or whatever you have in your cupboard will go a long way)

How to make it!

1. Empty your glue into a cereal sized bowl (using a bowl with a smooth texture makes it very easy to clean).
2. Add 1/2 tbs to the glue
3. Mix it up
4. Customize it by adding your food coloring a few drops at a time. The more you add the more likely the slime will also dye your kid's hands as they play with it and glitter if wanted (the glitter I used stayed in the slime and didn't get every where else).

5. Add a little squirt of contact solution
6. Mix it up again. If it is too slimy for you add a little more contact solution (add a little at a time). Less slimy = less mess and more of a putty.
7. ~ENJOY!~
